Scope:
The scope of this project consists of replacing two existing low water crossings with bridges along Roland Avenue to provide unflooded access during a 1% annual chance (100-year) storm event. Roland Avenue will also be re‐aligned to remove the sharp curves in this area and improve driver safety. The project includes the construction of new hike and bike trails and ties into the South Salado Creek Greenway Project.
Construction Updates:
The Roland Road project is nearly 50% complete and anticipated completion date is in the fall of 2013. Currently, access to Granieri Farms is provided on Roland Road from Pecan Valley. Access to Roland Road will be switched from Pecan Valley to Terron Road in the July 2013 timeframe. Flashing message boards will be installed two weeks prior to the traffic switch along the current detour route.
